Brihanmumbi Municipal Corporation (BMC) official Yogesh Kothad on Thursday alleged that he was slapped by a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator in Wadala, Mumbai after a heated argument.

However, BJP corporator Krishnaveni Reddy denied the allegation made by the BMC officer. A case was filed under sections 353 and 332 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Reddy with the Mumbai Police. The investigation on the same is underway.

This happened on Thursday morning when the BMC officer Yogesh Kothad was on his duty along with this team at Vijay Nagar Road in Wadala. Kothad alleged that the local BJP corporator abused him and later slapped him.  In response to the allegation made by the BMC official, Reddy said that she had a heated argument with Kothad but she never slapped him. Reddy informed that the work for cleaning the nullah at Vijay Nagar Road was delayed which led to waterlogging this morning.
