The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 15% water cut in 17 municipal wards of Mumbai from December 8 and 9. This includes South Mumbai, Eastern Suburbs and Western Suburbs. The water cut is being implemented as the major work of replacing the 2,750 mm diameter Tansa water main that carries water from Tansa Damto Bhandup Treatment Plant is being undertaken.
The water cut will be effective from 10 am on Monday, December 8, 2025 to 10 am on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
The areas that will be affected by the water cut are as follows:
1. South Mumbai
A Ward – Colaba, Cuffe Parade
C Ward – Grant Road, Marine Lines
D Ward – Malabar Hill
G South and G North Wards – Worli, Dadar, Prabhadevi, Mahim
2. Western Suburbs
H East and H West – Bandra (East-West), Juhu, Santacruz
K East and K West – Andheri, Jogeshwari, Vile Parle (East-West)
P South, P North, R South, R North, R Central – Kandivali, Malad, Borivali, Dahisar
3. Eastern Suburbs
N Ward – Ghatkopar, Vikhroli
L Ward – Kurla
S Ward – Bhandup, Kanjurmarg
Earlier, the water cut was to take place on December 3-4. But Dr. The BMC had postponed the decision in view of the large crowd of Babasaheb Ambedkar's followers in Mumbai. Now the work will be done on December 8-9.
