The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a special 9-day group tour from Mumbai covering some of Japan’s most popular destinations, including Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Hiroshima.
The tour, titled “Japan – The Golden Route with Hiroshima,” will be conducted from October 25 to November 3, 2026, covering eight nights and nine days. The package is being organised by IRCTC’s Western Region in Mumbai.
The tour will be conducted by air, with passengers travelling on Air India. The package costs ₹3,36,200 per person on a twin-sharing basis, excluding an additional 2% Tax Collected at Source (TCS).
Tokyo to Hiroshima: Key attractions
The itinerary begins in Tokyo, where tourists will visit attractions including TeamLab Planets, Akihabara, Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Skytree and Shibuya Crossing.
Travellers will then head towards Mount Fuji, including a visit to its fifth station, along with experiences such as the Hakone Ropeway and Lake Ashi.
The tour also includes visits to Hamamatsu and Nagoya, with opportunities to explore a railway museum or SCMAGLEV and Railway Park.
The itinerary then moves to Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, covering attractions such as the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Nara Park, Fushimi Inari Taisha, Todai-ji Temple and Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan.
Shinkansen bullet train ride to Hiroshima
One of the major highlights of the package is a journey aboard Japan’s famous Shinkansen bullet train to Hiroshima.
In Hiroshima, tourists will visit the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima Island before returning to Tokyo. The final leg of the trip will also include a sumo show and a visit to the Odaiba area.
