The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to launch a boat service between Worli and Mahim. This comes in the wake of the success of the city's first Seafood Plaza, which opened last year.

The first seafood plaza was located on the waterfront of Mahim Koliwada. It opened its doors on November 2. In just three months, it has attracted 30,000 visitors. The initiative has not only boosted tourism but also provided financial stability for the Mahim Koliwada Women's Self-Help Group.

Following the success in Mahim, a new seafood plaza is set to open in Worli Koliwada. The popularity of these plazas has prompted the local government to consider creating a tourist destination within the city.

In line with this, city officials are exploring the possibility of a ferry service connecting the seafronts of Mahim, Dadar, and Worli. The details of the service, including the number of journeys and additional amenities, are still being discussed.

The BMC has begun the renovation of the historic forts at Mahim and Worli. Once completed, these forts will be included in the boat ride tour. The Mahim Fort, which is about 800 years old, is located next to the seashore and along the waterfront. The Worli Fort, built by the British around 1675, is also being restored.

The proposed boat journey between Mahim and Worli is expected to boost Mumbai's tourism. It will also provide an additional source of income for the local fishermen. As the city continues to innovate and expand its tourism offerings, the future looks bright for both visitors and residents alike.
