Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to keep the public parks open for 12 hours instead of eight. BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta gave permission for the same and the decision will be implemented from
Monday.

The public gardens, under BMC, will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will remain shut for three hours in the afternoon between 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Apart from BJP MLA Sardar Tara Singh, Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray also demanded to extend the timings for the gardens. BMC will put up the changed timings outside Mumbai’s 750 gardens.
