While keeping in mind the increasing dengue-related cases across Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a notice to Maharashtra Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This happened after 12 BMC workers were diagnosed with dengue and malaria due to the ongoing metro work near Mantralaya. 

Ahead of Maharashtra Legislative assembly session and monsoon arriving, the metro work is in full swing which is creating trouble for the BMC workers and is affecting their health. The still water in the pits dug regarding metro work is increasing the problem of Malaria and dengue.

As this happened, BMC has issued a notice to MMRDA in order to ensure that the still water does not remain in the pit for a longer duration. With monsoon on its way in Mumbai, the diseases including dengue and malaria are expected to increase.
