So far, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has rehabilitated many people after demolishing illegal structures. The same was done for people whose houses were demolished for the road widening of Western Express Highway (WEH) and they were given houses by Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA). 

However, these people did not opt for the assigned houses but built their houses in the same place and stayed there for 20 years. The civic officials got to know about it and razed their houses by making a way for a 6-foot wide footpath. 

The buildings were razed under the supervision of K/East ward’s assistant commissioner Devendra Kumar Jain, civil engineers and cleared up the area. 

A three-storey-building was build near N S Phadke junction which falls on Western Express Highway had many offices like travel company, printing press which were bothering residents who finally complained to the BMC.
