BMC destroys 1,800 kg of contaminated ice

An encroachment drive was conducted across Dadar, Matunga and Mahim areas on Monday. The drive was initiated under the leadership of Ramakant Biradar, Assistant Commissioner G/North. 

This plan of action was meant for unauthorised hawkers, illegal encroachers, ice-sellers, and sherbet (juice) sellers. Around 1,800 kg of ice was destroyed.

 The hawkers selling golas to children don’t have the pure form of ice and this can be detrimental to the health of people consuming golas from the stall. Thus to keep a tab and regulate the consumption of contaminated ice the drive will be on stated G/north Ward official.
