Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has tied up with a Canadian firm to clean the Mithi river and Powai lake in the city. The Canadian firm has proposed the use of DCL-17 technology in order to carry out cleaning work for the two water bodies in Mumbai. According to BMC, this method can prove to be very effective.

DCL-17 technology has been successfully used throughout the world in various applications and it has been derived by DASUN International Incorporated, which is a Canadian company. The use of this technology in order to clean the water bodies helps in killing harmful pathogens and viruses.
