Mumbai - The collapse of the Mahad highway has certainly forced BMC to think and take earnest action to prepare the checklist of the city's 274 flyovers. The checklist of the bridges will not only have details, but also the present state of the bridges, such as reconstruction & repairs. All the 274 flyovers will be assessed. The project was undertaken by the civic administartion in the standing committee. Consultants will be appointed to audit the flyovers. The focus will be on assessing the structural stability of the British Era bridges, those in the suburbs will also be included in the checklist. Over 2 crore rupees fund to be allocated in the scheme to propose the design and audit the bridges.
