As only 300 xerox machines will be distributed, the selection process will be carried out through a lottery system. Candidates have to submit their application forms with their documents, aadhaar card, pan card, and yellow or orange ration cards. The cost of the machine is approximately ₹95,000, of which BMC will give ₹90,250 and the candidate will have to pay the remaining ₹4,750.
Prior to this, the BMC had distributed three-tyre scooters to physically challenged people. They received a good response and still receiving applications for it.
