Bombay High Court on Wednesday ordered the Maharashtra government to submit the entire State Backward Class Commission report on Maratha reservation. The Bombay HC adjourned the hearing until January 28.

Bombay HC was hearing multiple petitions filed against the 16 per cent Maratha reservation granted by the state government on the basis of the backward class commission report. While hearing the petitions challenging Maratha reservation, in a joint hearing, the HC announced that the final hearing of the matter will start from February 6.

Earlier, the state government had already submitted the state backward class commission report in HC. However, the HC directed the Maharashtra government to submit the entire report till Monday. The high court asked the government to also submit copies of the report to the petitioners.

Maharashtra government demanded the Bombay HC to uplift the stay on mega-recruitment. However, the high court rejected the demand on Wednesday. Bombay HC imposed a stay on the implementation on the Maratha reservation till February 6.

Meanwhile, the state government on January 18 submitted a 49-page affidavit to the Bombay HC demanding to dismiss all petitions filed against Maratha reservation claiming that they are baseless.
