Brave Hero Honoured for Rescuing Girl from Sickle Attack in Pune

In a recent act of heroism, Leshpal Jawalge, a courageous individual, was honoured by the Pune unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). His commendable bravery and selflessness saved a girl from a vicious sickle attack in the Peth area of Pune. The Harrowing Incident

The incident unfolded as a 21-year-old girl was riding pillion on a scooter with a friend near a temple. Suddenly, they were confronted by an assailant demanding to speak with the girl. Refusing to engage, the girl attempted to walk away, but the attacker unleashed a brutal attack with a sickle, causing injury to her arm. Shocked onlookers watched as her friend hurriedly retreated while the assailant relentlessly pursued the girl, striking her twice more. These subsequent attacks caused injuries to her hand and head, intensifying the horror of the situation.

The Courageous Intervention

Fortune favoured the distressed girl when Leshpal Jawalge, a local student passing by, witnessed the unfolding tragedy. Reacting swiftly, Jawalge sprang into action, dropping his bag and giving chase to the assailant. With the aid of other compassionate passersby who joined in, Jawalge managed to apprehend the attacker, eventually pinning him down on the road. Their combined efforts subdued the assailant and ensured the safety of the girl.

Jawalge's remarkable act of heroism has garnered immense recognition from various political and social groups. His bravery has been hailed and applauded for its selfless nature, as he risked his own safety to protect the vulnerable girl from further harm. Another Shocking Incident Unveiled

In an unrelated but equally disturbing incident, four individuals attempted to murder a young man named Aditya Salunkhe, employing an iron sickle as their weapon. The Chikhali police station registered an FIR on July 2 in response to this shocking act. The incident occurred near the Hanuman temple at Rupinagar in Talwade, around 2 pm on July 1.

According to Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Katkar, Aditya had engaged in minor disputes with the accused individuals. On the fateful day, while heading to work with a friend, they were accosted near the Hanuman temple by the four attackers. In a merciless assault, Aditya suffered serious injuries inflicted by iron sickles. The police have identified one of the accused as Ganesh Matkar. Investigations are underway, and a case has been registered against the four accused under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
