In the last ten days, car registrations for Diwali deliveries rose by 29 per cent whereas bike bookings have gone up by 48 per cent in Mumbai, as per reports.

According to a report in Times of India, even though in the month of October vehicle registrations witnessed a surge, however, in view of Diwali, rush for new cars and bikes surpassed the record. The deliveries all together will be made on Dhanteras, on Friday and Diwali, on Saturday. However, if the data is to be compared with last year, bookings for cars are short by 6 per cent whereas bookings for bikes are short by 8 per cent.

Amidst the buying spree, some applicants applied for special number plates, which come at premium rates as numbers are allotted through a computerized system. However, in spite of being short-staffed due to the pandemic, the RTOs cleared all new registrations on time. Registrations were also high in neighbouring Vashi and Thane, as per reports.

During the festivities, the desire to attain a new vehicle increases as people believe it to be an auspicious time. As a result, people practice buying goods for themselves and their family members believing it to be a good time to make investments. Moreover, right from small enterprises to big companies, every enterprise comes up with new offers to lure their customers. Even the realty market approaches its customers with attractive offers and freebies, not leaving a single stone unturned in order to bring in more consumers.
