On Wednesday, July 27, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde interacted with the media and shared that it was decided in the cabinet meeting to withdraw all cases up to March 2022 in political and social agitation in the entire state. This will be done in regard to Ganesh Utsav and Dahi Handi. 

Further, he brought to light that cases for violation of COVID-19 guidelines will also be taken back. He then shared that the health department is on alert for monkeypox and the requisite steps are being undertaken in regard to the same. 

The Shinde government's cabinet which presently only includes him and his Deputy Chief Minister counterpart, Devendra Fadnavis has been receiving flak from the opposition owing to the delay in the cabinet expansion. While the duo was sworn in on June 30, a cabinet expansion is yet awaited. 

Now, narratives are making speculations that Shinde is likely to fly to the national capital, Delhi this evening to meet union home minister Amit Shah to discuss the cabinet expansion. Shinde has been making several rounds to the capital since chairing the post of the Maharashtra CM, however, a breakthrough in regards to the cabinet expansion is awaited.
