After passenger unions stated they would stage a protest on July 1 if trains on Central line aren't made punctual, the rail corporation has asked for 100 days to improve the punctuality of the trains. Central Railway officials had arranged for a meeting with a delegation of 10 passenger unions on how the punctuality of local trains can be improved.

Alongside, the rail management also decided in the meeting to divert express trains to Panvel instead of taking them to CSMT and curbing trespassing on tracks.
