The main reason why Children’s Day is celebrated across the world is to celebrate their true essence of childhood. But there are many children (in large number) who are unaware of the essence of childhood, innocence, and their rights. Such children are usually found in the slums and brothels. In comparison to both, children growing up in brothels live a tragic life. They are not only oppressed socially but mentally as well.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Social Activities Integration (SAI) NGO had organised a flash mob with sex workers' children at Dadar. During the flash mob, they gave out the message saying that people should let children enjoy their childhood peacefully.
Celebrating Children’s Day should not be limited to that particular day but it should be celebrated throughout the year. We tried to give a social message through our flash mob,” Vinay Vast, director, SAI NGO.
