Even though the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is the richest municipality in the country, the locals still face troubles that some claim, aren’t expected from them. Locals have been complaining about potholes on the road, to the filling of the drains during monsoons. Despite this, the BMC officials have neither woken up or taken any strict action.

In Indira Nagar, Hanuman Society, drains are filling up relentlessly. Since the drain water goes into the gutter, they are always full. Due to the continuous filling of gutters, sewage and garbage come out from the drains. This results in the spread of foul smell and filth.

Young children and the elderly face immense problems due to this, since there exists a risk of diseases.

Owing to this, the MNS has raised their voice. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Branch President Vijay Bora said that the work of repairing the gutters should be done immediately with the funds of the BMC so that the inconvenience caused to the common citizens is reduced. For this, he has also written a letter to the BMC many times, but till now, he says they haven’t woken up.

In other developments, the BMC has reportedly decided to construct 490 new roads in 2022.
