Grand Central Park will be inaugurated at Kolshet in Thane Municipal Area by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday, February 8 at 2:00 pm. Developed by Kalpataru Group, the 20.5-acre Grand Central Park will be open to the general public from Friday, February 09.

The program will be graced by Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, Kapil Patil, Minister of State, Ministry of Panchayat Raj, Government of India, Shambhuraj Desai, Minister of State Excise and Guardian Minister Thane District, Ravindra Chavan, Minister of Public Works (excluding Public Works), Food Civil Supplies Consumer Protection are special guests.

MP Rajan Vikhe, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MP Kumar Ketkar, MLA Dr. Jitendra Awhad, MLA Pratap Sarnaik, MLA Sanjay Kelkar, MLA Niranjan Davkhare, MLA Pramod Patil will have a special presence. 


After the inauguration on Thursday, this biggest park in Thane will be open to the general public. The concept of Grand Central Park, built on about 20.5 acres in Kalpataru Parkcity at Kolshet, was conceived by the Chief Minister. There are about 3500 different types of trees in this park. So, the park is home to more than 100 species of birds and butterflies. This park will be a centre of attraction for everyone from children to senior citizens. It also has gardens based on the concept of four styles: Mughal, Chinese, Moroccan and Japanese. The park also has many facilities for children to play, jogging track, largest skating yard, lawn tennis, volleyball court.
