On Sunday, May 24, Mumbai City Guardian Minister Aslam Shaikh visited the COVID care centre (jumbo facility) at Byculla's Richardson and Cruddas Factory. The facility has been arranged with 800 beds for COVID-19 patients, of which, 300 beds will have oxygen support. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner, Suresh Kakani and Shaikh inspected the facility on Sunday.

BMC officials prepared this Byculla-based quarantine/isolation facility in a week's time, which is spread over 70,000 sq. ft, which will also have an independent canteen of its own to help people with breakfast, lunch and dinner for the patients. Alongside, necessary equipment has also been set up to ensure the patients can get boiled water at the COVID care facility.
