Central Railway (CR)'s Mumbai Division registered remarkable freight loading figures of 5.38 million tonnes for the first quarter of FY 2025-26. This includes freight loading of 1.95 million tonnes during June 2025.
Earnings from Freight loading for the first quarter of FY 2025-26 has been INR 492 crore which includes earning figures of INR 176 crore for the month of June 2025.
Container Loading
Container loading from JNPT for the first quarter of FY 2025-26 has showed an impressive growth of 18% with loading figures of 1768 rakes during the period April to June 2025 as against 1491 rakes during the corresponding period last year.
1239 Containers loaded on 19.06.2025 is the best ever during the current financial year.
Wagon loading
The average Wagon loading has been encouraging with growth of 4% for the first quarter of FY 2025-26 with average wagon loading of 1445 per day during the period April to June-2025 as against 1388 wagons during the corresponding period last year
Monthly Wagon loading has grown by 3% with loading of 1550 wagons per day during the month of June-2025 as against 1505 wagons during June 2024.
1912 Wagons loaded on 19.06.2025 is the best ever during the current financial year.
Rakes Loading / Unloading
Loading / Unloading of rakes has been promising with 1046 rakes loaded during June-2025 as against 1009 rakes during the corresponding month last year registering an increase of more than 3% and 1053 rakes unloaded during June-2025 as against 974 rakes during the corresponding month last year registering an increase of more than 8%.
Business Development Units set up on Mumbai Division have achieved very positive results.
The first Container rake of Central Ware Housing Corporation (CWC) with machinery parts of M/s Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd were loaded at the CWC siding, Kalamboli on 29.06.2025, to be sent to CWC Bamanheri in Uttar Pradesh. This loading generated a freight revenue of INR 25.96 lakhs (excluding GST). With an initial loading of 1 rake per week, there are plans to increase the loading to 4 to 5 rakes per week.
Various measures undertaken by Mumbai Division to increase freight loading, has enabled it to achieve significant growth in Freight loadings.
