In the wake of the Bhima Koregaon protest, Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh and 250 leftist organisations called for a Maharashtra bandh on Wednesday and the protest was called off around 4:00 pm. This was declared in a press conference which was headed by Dr Prakash Ambedkar of Bharipa Bahujan Mahajan Sangh. He praised people who supported the movement and was happy how the events turned out.

Targeting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prakash Ambedkar said that few parties are trying to create chaotic situations across the city. He also said that now people should decide to support such organisations or not.

BJP has a religious agenda

Every party has one agenda, likewise, BJP has a religious agenda which is Hindutva. The ruling party comes in power on the basis of their religious agenda and stays in power for five years. And when the five-term nears to end, they renew their agenda by carrying out riots, accused Dr Prakash Ambedkar.

Stone pelting incidents at few places

Ambedkar added that barring few places where stone pelting incidents took place, in other areas, the protest went peaceful. He also demanded the arrest of Hindu Ekta Aghadi and Shivraj Pratishthan, headed by Milind Ekbote and Sambhaji Bhide.
