Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi’s illegal houses to be demolished by government

Fugitive businessman Nirav Modi, and his uncle Mehul Choksi are currently absconding while the government is making efforts to poach them down. On the other hand, both their houses are being demolished as they are violating CRZ regulations.

Absconders Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi have been all over the news for the past few months and the government is trying to extradite them. Recently, the Maharashtra government declared that Modi and Choksi’s bungalow in Raigad and Alibaug should be demolished.

However, the demolishing of the bungalows isn’t associated with the money-laundering but is being brought down due to a violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) regulations.

Maharashtra Environmental Minister Ramdas Kadam stated that there are more than 160 illegal houses in Alibaug and Murud. These bungalows consist of several houses that belong to film stars and businessmen.

Nirav Modi’s house in Kihim village and Choksi’s house in Awas village of Raigadh are violating the CRZ regulations and thus, the collectors have been ordered to break the bungalows down.
