BMC has reached the decision, to begin the process of generating electricity using debris at Deonar dumping ground. Tata Consultancy Engineers were appointed for this project and to begin with BMC’s plan, a geographical survey of this dumping ground will be conducted. A contractor has been appointed for this geographical survey.

BMC intends to convert the debris into electrical energy which is spread across 12 hectares of the Deonar dumping ground. The tender for the project has been approved and the work is expected to be completed by June 2018. As per the Tata Consultancy Engineers, to install the machinery for the project, it is necessary to conduct a geographical survey of the ground.

Renuka Consultants has been appointed for this work and the total expenditure is estimated around ₹77 lakh.
