Although the coronavirus situation in Mumbai is under control, the restricted area in Mumbai has been on the rise in the past few days. The morbidity rate due to COVID-19 has also reduced to 0.12 per cent. However, the number of restricted areas has gone up. On January 12, the restricted areas in Mumbai were 151 but the same had gone up to 203 on January 27.

All the restricted areas are being computerised by the control room of the Municipal Corporation. After the name and address of a patient are included in it, the department is shown to be restricted by computer method. However, if more than one patient is actually found, it is understood that action is being taken to restrict the area.

The number of critically ill patients has also come down to four per cent.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government announced an extension in prevailing lockdown restrictions till February 28.

Moreover, according to reports, the government added that the existing Mission Begin Again guidelines in relation to the coronavirus pandemic will remain in force till the end of February.

On January 27, Maharashtra improved its COVID-19 vaccination numbers by 15 per cent as 41,470 people took the vaccination for the coronavirus on the seventh day of the first phase of the state-wide vaccination drive meant for people working in the health sector. According to reports, the state could, however, only meet 77 per cent of the intended daily target of 53,900 healthcare workers.
