Fire breaks out at the top floor of a seven-storey building in Borivali; one firefighter injured

As per reports, the fire was reported at 7am on September 4, 2021. Investigation revealed that and electrical short circuit caused the fire at the office located in the building.

The top floor of a seven-storey building in Mumbai's Borivali area caught fire in the morning on Saturday, September 4, 2021, where a fireman is said to be injured. As per reports, the incident occurred at 7am, at the Ganjawala Residency building, where the 43-year-old firefighter was a part of the rescue operation. 

Police officials and the rescue team rushed to the spot and the fire was doused by 9:30am. Officials confirmed that all the residents from the building were safe, however, the firefighter, Nathu Sarjerao Badhak, has sustained burn injuries. He was taken to Kandivali's Shatabdi Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

ANI shared a video on Twitter and reported, "A fire broke out in the seventh storey of a building in Borivali. It was brought under control after fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. One fire official was injured during the operation and shifted to a hospital. Further details awaited."

Meanwhile, a blast was reported in the morning on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Jakharia Textile's manufacturing plant in Boisar. The cause of the incident was not known, however, officials confirmed that two workers from the unit passed away due to the incident. Five other workers sustained burn injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals in Vasai and Boisar for treatment. Investigation regarding the same is underway and the department will soon summon the officials from the firm.
