On Sunday, December 6, a fire broke out at a COVID-19 hospital in Ulhasnagar at around 9 PM which led to thick smokes engulfing the premises.

As per reports, the blaze of fire erupted as a result of a short circuit in an air-conditioning unit. However, as soon as the fire was caught, firefighters reached the spot immediately and doused the fire. Moreover, there were no injuries reported as 20 odd patients were shifted to another hospital.

Earlier on November 20, the Mumbai Fire Brigade had issued notices under Form J (for deficiencies found in regards to fire safety measures) to 29 malls.

After the fire broke out in the city centre mall at Nagpada, 75 malls in Mumbai were inspected and fire prevention measures were taken. Moreover, the Mumbai Fire Brigade has warned that legal action will be taken against the owners of the goods if the errors are not rectified. In addition, in case of unauthorized construction in the mall, action will be taken by the Assistant Commissioner with the concerned departmental offices.
