On Tuesday, December 28, a fire has reported to have broken out in Kandivali West in Mumbai at a ground plus 7 storey residential building, with some people feared to have been trapped in the building terrace, reports claim.

It has been stated that it was a level 1 fire that broke out at nearly 9 am in an old Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) building at Kandivali West's Jankalyan Nagar. According to narratives, nearly 45 people were stuck in the building terrace from which 40 were rescued by the fire brigade.

Based on accounts, officials from the fire brigade elaborated on how the fire broke in the meter box of the ground plus seven storey structure in MHADA building No 10.

Accounts, on the other hand, claim that the fire in the meter box of the building caused the fire to spread. This resulted in smoke spreading out in the building. Based on reports, five individuals were hospitalized after complaints of suffocation.

While three have been sent to BDBA Municipal General Hospital, two have been sent to Bhaskar Hospital. It has been claimed that all the patients are stable.

This comes amidst the many fire incidents that have been reported in Mumbai in the recent past.
