A fire broke out at a plastic godown in the Masterji Compound in Mumbai's Malad West area in the wee hours on Monday, June 21. According to reports, five fire tenders have reached the spot to douse the fire.

The Mumbai police and fire tenders are present at the spot and the operations are underway to bring the fire under control. However, no injuries or casualties have been reported yet.

Photos shared by the news agency on social media show flames and black smoke reaching out to the sky.

"Fire from the plastic godown has also caught our quarantine centre's godown, causing damage. All our material is burned," Haresh Lakhania, godown owner was quoted by ANI.

Meanwhile, a fire incident had occurred a few days ago at a scrap godown in the Avchit Pada area of Bhivandi. According to sources, in this fire, 15 scrap godowns were reportedly burnt to ashes. The warehouses contained cloth, rags, cardboard, plastic, linen, POP and other scrap materials. Fortunately, no one was killed in the blaze.

On the other hand, on Friday, June 4, a level 2 fire broke out at a building in Mumbai's Oshiwara area in the morning. The incident was reported at 7.57 am on Friday, June 4 from the building on the 1st floor (G+ 6) at Aashiyana Building, opposite Sunni Muslim Kabrastan on Oshiwara Relief Road. No casualties have been reported so far.
