A day after two persons were killed and 17 others were injured in the fire incident in Nashik, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited on Sunday, January 1, the hospital to see the persons injured.

Moreover, after the visit, the CM announced aid for the families of the deceased and also ordered a probe into the incident.

While speaking to reporters, Shinde told that he has ordered a probe to ascertain the reason behind the blast and the subsequent fire. He announced a compensation of INR 5 lakh for the families of the deceased workers.

As per reports, a massive fire erupted at Jindal Company located near Mundhegaon in Igatpuri taluka of Nashik district. The fire broke out at the factory in Nashik's Mundegaon village at 11 am.

Shinde was accompanied by Nashik guardian minister Dada Bhuse and other senior government officials during his visit to the private hospital where the injured workers are receiving treatment.

“The fire was a devastating one. The state government will provide compensation of INR 5 lakh each to the bereaved families of the two deceased. The state government will also ensure that the injured get the best treatment,” said the CM.

Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadanvis tweeted: “The incident at Jindal near Igatpuri is unfortunate. All efforts are being carried out to extinguish the fire. Additional fire tenders have also been called to douse the fire at the earliest. Two army helicopters have also been kept in standby.”

After meeting the workers, Shinde travelled to Igatpuri and visited the factory where the fire had broken out.
