Thane, Palghar, Raigad, suburbs including Mumbai have been experiencing heavy rain for the past eight days. A landslide occurred at Irshalwadi in Raigad due to heavy rains. Recently, a four storeyed building tilted in Nalasopara.


As many as 16 families lived in this building. The incident was immediately reported to the administration. The related incident took place in Nalasopara west, Hanuman Nagar area. A four storeyed building called Jainam Apartment at Samarth Nagar of Hanuman Nagar tilted.


In fact, this building had already been declared as extremely dangerous by the Municipal Corporation. But still 16 families lived there. Immediately after the relevant incident came to light, the employees of the municipality, police, and fire brigade entered the spot for rescue work. They immediately started a rescue operation.

35 families in the neighbouring Jalaram Kunj building were also shifted to a safe place 

With the help of administration, fire brigade personnel, municipal employees and police, a rescue operation of 16 families in the building has been carried out and shifted to a safe place. The pillars of the building are completely cracked and may collapse anytime. 35 families from the neighbouring Jalaram Kunj building have also been shifted to avoid any danger to any other building when the collapsing building falls. The building had been given an extremely dangerous notice for two years. But the residents were not evacuating.
