Special arrangements have been made by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for farmers by placing water cans and installing mobile toilets as well at Azad Maidan where farmers are waiting for their meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The BMC has placed 40 mobile toilets at Azad Maidan, which will be free of service for the farmers, confirmed Kiran Dighavkar, assistant commissioner of A/Ward. Apart from this, there are four water tankers to quench the thirst. Along with this, two ambulances have also been set up, for any mishap.

On March 6, 2018, thousands of farmers from various districts gathered in Nashik before a six-day long march to Mumbai which began on Tuesday afternoon. The long march was called by the Left-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha (ABKS). They also received support from the Peasants and Workers Party and CPI.
About 25,000 farmers have been marching to towards #Mumbai to protest against the anti-farmer policies.

However, this is not the first time a protest has been called for as the farmers had staged a similar protest that lasted for a period of 10 days in November 2017 against the state who had promised a loan waiver.
They are also demanding compensation of ₹40,000 per acre for the destruction of crops due to hailstorm and allocation of forest land under cultivation to farmers and implementation of Forest Rights Act.
