If Maharashtra’s CM Devendra Fadnavis does not adhere to our demands, then we will gherao Vidhan Bhavan. Carry out a lathi charge or shoot us, nothing can stop us,” Kisan Gujar, president of the state council of All India Kisan Sabha.

Farmers who walked barefoot from Nashik to Mumbai, cutting a distance of 200 km, have reached Mumbai’s Azad Maidan to voice out their various demands.

The delegation of farmers said that they will meet CM around 2:00pm where they will lay out their demands. But, if CM doesn’t meet their demands, then by evening they will gherao the Vidhan Bhavan on Monday, threatened Kisan Gujar.

For more than four days, nearly 35,000 to 40,000 farmers walked 200km and landed in Thane, on Saturday evening. The farmers, led by Left-affiliated All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), are demanding a complete loan waiver, remunerative prices for agricultural produce and implementation of Swaminathan Commission recommendations among others.
