On the backdrop of the farmers' long march, a high-level meeting of senior officials was conducted by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis last night at Varsha bungalow. Fadnavis has decided to form a six-member committee to discuss the farmers' demands.

The six-member committee will have six ministers such as Chandrakant Patil, Girish Mahajan, Eknath Shinde, Pandurang Fundkar, Vishnu Sawra, Subhash Deshmukh.

CM believes that the six-member committee will be able to find a solution with the farmer delegation.

Except for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), all opposition parties supported farmers' long march and asked the ruling government to act on it. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar asked the government to execute the Forest Rights Act in a legislative house. Likewise, MLA Ganpat Deshmukh said that the state should not engage themselves in discussions and forming a committee but should straightaway talk to the farmers. When the opposition party leaders got aggressive on farmers' long march issue, Fadnavis responded.

The CM said that the state will have a positive approach towards farmers' long march issue. He also praised farmers’ courage who walked the distance of 200 km from Nashik to Mumbai.
