On Sunday night the Santacruz police busted a Garba party on the occasion of Navratri that was happening in a hall in Santacruz (W), stated reports. A crowd of 100 people had gathered on the occasion who allegedly weren’t wearing masks or following the norms for social distancing.

According to accounts, the senior inspector of Santacruz police station, Dyaneshwar Ganore a patrolling van of the police saw many cars parked outside the SNDT college and thus, went inside the hall which is beside the college and witnessed huge crowds.

Whilst the crowd was dispersed, an FIR was registered against the owner of the hall as well as the organizer in sections 188, 269 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as other categories of the Disaster Management Act.

In other developments, the Naya Nagar police booked Rinku Sangoi Dedhia and Rahul Dedhia for they had allegedly refused to sell a 1-BHK flat in Mira Road’s Shantinagar to a 37-year-old man named Govardhan Deshmukh. Reports claim that he was refused the flat in the four-storey building since Deshmukh was a Marathi-speaking man and the structure was entirely for communities that include the likes of Gujaratis, Marwaris and Jains. Whilst a complaint has been made against the two, arrests haven’t been made so far, stated narratives.
