Heap of debris near Shivaji Statue

State Government is all geared up to spend whopping 3,600 crores in the construction of Shivaji memorial. There is a memorial standing tall near Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. In the month of March, the birth anniversary of Shivaji Jayanti was celebrated on Western Expressway. 

Nicholas Almeida, Chairman Watchdog Foundation complained regarding the debris amassed alongside the statue. A Huge stage was set up for the celebration, after the programme the stage was dismantled. Over a month passed but the debris is lying there in the open near the statue. Nicholas Almeida has written the letter to Ajoy Mehta, BMC Commissioner in connection with this.
