The cold spell in Maharashtra has eased over the past few days, and many parts of the state are now experiencing rising heat. The rain alert issued last week for several regions has now been withdrawn.
In Mumbai and along the Konkan coast, temperatures have been gradually increasing over the past few days. The Meteorological Department has recorded a slight rise even in minimum temperatures.
In Mumbai, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid throughout the day. Increased humidity along the Konkan coastline may make conditions feel more uncomfortable.
The city is likely to record a maximum temperature of 32°C and a minimum temperature of 22°C today.
Meanwhile, according to the weather department, a low-pressure area is currently forming over the Bay of Bengal. This system may bring rainfall to some parts of the country.
Heavy rainfall is expected in southern Tamil Nadu and Kerala due to this system. However, temperatures have risen across Maharashtra and the rest of western India. Several districts have recorded an increase of 2–3°C.
In western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, and Kolhapur, heat levels are also increasing. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 18–20°C, while maximum temperatures may range from 34–36°C.
Cool conditions may be felt during early mornings and late nights, but the afternoon heat is expected to intensify.
In the Marathwada region, the minimum temperature today is around 19°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C. Some areas may record a minimum of 22°C and maximum temperatures rising up to 35°C.
The low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal may bring heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in certain parts of the country. However, Maharashtra is not expected to be affected, and weather conditions across the state are likely to remain stable throughout the day, according to the Meteorological Department.
