Due to heavy rains in Irshalwadi of Raigad area of Maharashtra, a whole village became a victim of this disaster due to starvation. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself visited the site along with the local administration to help the disaster affected citizens of Irshalwadi near Khalapur in Raigad district. Many more people are also coming forward for the disaster affected citizens.
Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has also extended a helping hand to the disaster affected people. Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal of Lalbaug is helping Irshalwadi disaster affected villagers with food, material and clothes.
Bodies of 16 people recovered
Irshalwadi village was devastated due to starvation. Rescue workers have found 16 bodies, but around 100 people are feared trapped under the mud and rocks as they slept. Among the dead are 12 adults and 4 children, with an equal number of men and women.
