In view of the increasing number of coronavirus patients, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has directed the police department to take stern action against those violating the rules and those walking around without masks. 

He made the statement while speaking at a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation, at the meeting room at Ojhar Airport in Nashik. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary of the State Sitaram Kunte, Principal Secretary of the Health Department Dr. Pradeep Vyas, District Collector Suraj Mandhare, Commissioner of Police Deepak Pandey, Municipal Commissioner Kailas Jadhav, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Leena Bansod, Additional Superintendent of Police Sharmishtha Walawalkar, District Surgeon Dr. Ratna Ravkhande among others.

Adding more, CM also said that this time the management of COVID-19 is more challenging than last time, and hence the citizens need to cooperate with the administration. It is important to keep an eye on the patients receiving treatment for home quarantine. Observing the increasing number of patients, CM instructed the police department to take strict action against those violating the rules and romaing around without masks.

Restrictions have been issued by the district administration to prevent further spread and officials have stated that one should strictly follow the rules. It is believed that this will help in coordination and crowd control. Further decisions will be taken by the CM and respective district collectors after observing the situation. 

Meanwhile, there has been a growing awareness among the people about getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Keeping this in mind, proper planning is being done to increase the number of vaccinations. Officials have increased the number of vaccination centers in Nashik city as directed by the CM and the Municipal Commissioner.

Necessary health facilities including oxygen supply, ventilation beds, medicines, etc. are being updated to ensure adequate availability to cope with this situation. CM has also emphasised that the difference between last year's wave and this year's wave is different. Various issues that are being managed by the local administration and the Collector informed that the measures are being taken to manage the crisis.
