CM Uddhav Thackeray directs officials to relocate slum dwellers affected with the Mithi river basin

The construction site for the project is at Kurla, in an open place with 17,200 houses, whereby some of these houses are dilapidated and in bad shape.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Wednesday, November 11, directed the officials to give priority to the affected slum dwellers at Kranti Nagar and Sandesh Nagar in Mithi river basin. Discussions regarding the same were held in a meeting held at Varsha Niwas, whereby the concerned officials reviewed the plan regarding the relocation of slums on the site of Airport Authority.

The meeting was attended by Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Tourism Minister and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Aaditya Thackeray, MP Vinayak Raut, MLA Ashok Lande, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashish Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Housing Department SVR. Srinivas, Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Vikas Kharge, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ajoy Mehta, Principal Adviser to the Chief Minister, Anil Diggikar, Chief Executive Officer, MHADA, Satish Lokhande, Chief Executive Officer, and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority.

Speaking further CM said that said that the slum dwellers who were disqualified under the 1995 Act should be made eligible as per the rules and regulations of 2011, and work related to the project should start immediately whereby a plan needs to be drawn to relocate the dwellers in a timely manner. 

The construction site for the project is at Kurla, in an open place with 17,200 houses, whereby some of these houses are dilapidated and in bad shape. Furthermore, there are some houses on the bank of the Mithi river and plan to relocate the members from here should be considered on priority.
