On Tuesday, December 28, the guardian minister for Mumbai, Aslam Shaikh stated that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government doesn’t want another lockdown in Maharashtra, reports mentioned. At the same time, however, it doesn’t want the coronavirus cases to increase.

According to reports, while interacting with media persons at the Vidhan Bhavan, Shaikh elaborated on how the MVA government wasn’t keen on another lockdown in the state because it causes inconveniences to the citizens.

He added that the government wants to see to it that people adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines. In light of this, it has undertaken the requisite measures to curb coronavirus cases. Shaikh is of the opinion that the citizen’s cooperation is required to contain the spread of the virus.

Last week, the Maharashtra government banned the assembly of over five people in public spaces between 9 pm and 5 am. Apart from this, it also mentioned that restaurants, gyms, spas, cinemas halls will have to operate at 50 per cent capacity attendance. All of them will have to declare their full potential as well as 50 per cent capacity.

Moreover, the number of attendees should not be more than 100 for other social, political and religious events. While for open spaces, the number of attendees should not increase by over 250 or 25 per cent of the capacity of the space whichever is less.
