The Maharashtra government’s Marathi language department has organised a workshop for the aspiring novelists and writers. The minister of Marathi Language Subhash Desai has informed that the junior novelists will get guidance from senior writers through this week-long workshop.

The Government's Literature and Culture Board and Vishwa Marathi Parishad have jointly organized free writing workshops for new writers on various topics such as stories, poems, research, translation, blog writing from 10 to 16 December 10 to 16, 2020. For the first time, the novelist workshops will get a global platform.

Subhash Desai expressed optimism that new writers will come out of the workshop with the energy of tolerant and egalitarian teachings of saints, as well as new vigor and energy of writing about the creation inspired by the Bhagwat tradition week.

Many new writers in the world of Marathi literature will be connected to each other through these online writing workshops. On this occasion, senior talented writers will be guided by the novelists who enter the rich genres of Marathi literature through their writings in rich stories, poems, plays, novels, children's literature and fine prose. Such information has been given by the Marathi language department.

Moreover, the MVA government-led by Shiv Sena has always been trying to keep the legacy of Marathi language and Hindutva since they have been in power. In June this year, had issued a notification making Marathi compulsory in Standard 1 and Standard 6 in the academic year 2020-21, Standard 2 and Standard 7 in 2021-22, Standard 3 and Standard 8 in 2022-23, Standard 4 and Standard 9 in 2023-24 and Standard 5 and Standard 10 in 2024-25 in schools belonging to different mediums and education boards in Maharashtra.
