In view of the recent cyclonic storm Tauktae, the Maharashtra government is touted to take preventative measures in order to avoid further damages to the Konkan coast.

Accordingly, multi-purpose shelter centres, underground power lines, sun protection dams, lightning arrester facilities will be set up in the coastal areas. Moreover, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has instructed all the District Collectors of the Konkan coast to submit a proposal in this regard immediately. He also instructed to rehabilitate the affected villages in the area.

Moreover, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Committee Hall of the Deputy Chief Minister's Office in the Ministry in order to take permanent measures for disaster management in the wake of the cyclone on the Konkan coast.

On the other hand, amidst the landfall of Cyclone Tauktae across the state of Maharashtra, several trees were uprooted in Mumbai as a result of the gusty winds. Several incidents were reported of the same due to which Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has allocated manpower, resources and materials to remove the same from the streets across the city.

However, speaking about the same, Former Corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar stated, "Our team is working in different areas of the ward, collecting felled trees and transferring them to the end of the road near Jane Garden and informing BMC about it. They will take it from there later, as there are many trees that have been cut down and are being picked up. It will take 3 to 4 days to complete the work,"
