According to reports, the Maharashtra Government has decided to set up a Science City in Pune.

Moreover, it will be known as 'Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Science City' in Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Pune.

After the state government had announced the IT Awards in the name of Rajiv Gandhi and earlier, Assam Cabinet decided to rename Rajiv Gandhi National Park as Orang National Park, The Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey has now decided to set up Science City after Rajiv Gandhi's name.

On the other hand, the Maharashtra government has launched a special mission to help women who have lost their husbands due to the coronavirus. Moreover, the state government has decided to provide an array of services under one roof. This new programme “Mission Vatsalya” has been curated for widows, especially from rural areas who come from poor backgrounds and deprived sections.

According to reports, at least 15,095 women lost their husbands due to COVID-19 in the last 18 months. In addition, a total of 14,661 women have been listed by the District Task Force, WCD Department staff, child development project officers, local unit officers and Anganwadi workers are visiting homes of such women and providing them with these services. Furthermore, the department has reached out to about 10,500 women.
