In the wake of the ongoing heavy rains in the state, including Mumbai, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the State Emergency Operations Center in Mantralaya this afternoon and reviewed the situation arising out of the rains. Deputy CM Shinde ordered that 40 villagers stranded in some villages in Ashti Pathardi taluka of Beed district be airlifted to a safe place with the help of NDRF after flood waters engulfed them.

During this time, he interacted with the District Magistrates of the districts affected by heavy rainfall, inquired about the relief and rescue operations, and issued alert instructions to the district administration.

The DCM during his visit spoke to the officials of Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over the phone and inquired about the rainfall situation from them. He also directed that additional manpower be deployed and pumps be installed to drain the water as soon as possible wherever there are complaints of waterlogging in Mumbai.
