Now 'One State, One Dress' will be implemented in Maharashtra from the next academic year i.e. academic year 2024-25. The government has taken an important decision in this regard. Under the Samagra Shiksha Program and the Free Dress Scheme of the State Government, all the students studying from class I to class VIII in government and local government schools will be given the benefit of two uniforms of the same color (Common Uniform For School).
The Maharashtra Primary School Education Department has directed that the School Management Committee will not take any action at the local level regarding the free uniform scheme. A government order in this regard has been issued by the School Education Department. The new uniform will be in line with the Scouts and Guides theme. Light blue shirt and dark blue half pants for boys and light blue shirt and dark blue skirt for girls or in schools where there is salwar kameez, the salwar will be dark blue and the kameez will be light blue. One of those uniforms must have a shoulder strap and two pockets on the student's shirt.
Work of sewing uniforms for local women self-help group
Necessary action will be taken with the help of Women Economic Development Corporation to get the work of sewing uniforms done through local women self-help groups. According to this, the School Education Department has given instructions that no action should be taken at the local level regarding the free uniform scheme through the concerned schools as well as the School Management Committee.From the academic year 2024-25, all necessary action as per the decision taken by the government to provide uniform to all eligible students on the first day of school will be taken through the Maharashtra Council of Primary Education.
