According to latest data available, Maharashtra's COVID-19 graph dipped further on Monday, October 25, to below 1,000 for the first time this year.
Moreover, it has been reported that 31 of the 36 districts in Maharashtra didn’t register a single death due to coronavirus on Monday, October 25.
Maharashtra recorded just 889 new COVID-19 cases. This is the lowest daily number since May 5 last year, when the 24-hour count was 841. It is also a drastic fall from the 1,410 cases reported on Sunday, October 24, which marked lowest case load in 75 weeks.
The only four districts to report deaths on the day were Pune, Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Thane. Of the total, two Mumbai districts recorded seven deaths, while two deaths each were reported from Pune and Ratnagiri, and one death from Navi Mumbai.
It has also been observed that as many as 14 districts reported no cases on Monday, while 12 districts saw cases in single digits.
Meanwhile, the financial capital of India, Mumbai, reported 263 fresh COVID-19 positive cases and seven related fatalities. The total caseload and death toll in the city stand at 7,54,770 and 16,220, respectively. This is the lowest daily count for the city since August 14, 2021, when 265 coronavirus cases were recorded in Mumbai.
Also, in another major development, the corporations in MMR region Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira Bhayandar and Bhivandi for the first time reported zero coronavirus cases.
