In recent developments, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray reportedly inspected the beautification work conducted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Powai along with the new bicycle and jogging track that is to be constructed in the area.

According to sources, the civic body, while preserving the greenery in the Powai area, is to construct a jogging track of about 10 km. Moreover, facilities will be provided for the convenience of the citizens.

Powai lake happens to be a focal point of attraction for the citizens living in Mumbai. However, for the past several years, industrial companies have come about across the area due to which the amount of sewage discharged has increased vastly. As a result, the BMC was directed to undertake the work of beautification in the area and to further curb the pollution levels.

On the other hand, earlier on June 4, 2021, Aaditya Thackeray escaped an incident during a meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. As per reports, a huge chandelier collapsed along with the part of the false ceiling in the evening when Aaditya Thackeray and other officials from the government were in a meeting at hall number 4 of the guest house. Authorities confirmed that the officials were immediately taken to a safe place and no injuries were reported.

Sahyadri Guest House is one of the most visited locations by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, cabinet ministers and others officials. During the lockdown, several meetings are arranged here on a frequent basis. The structure is around 25 years old and the recently conducted audit mentioned that there was no risk at the building.
