In Mumbai, the Maratha community took out a march from Girgaon Chowpatty to Varsha Bungalow for their rights. The march started under strict police security. The Mumbai Police deployed tight security in the Marine Drive area ahead of the protest. Security has been beefed up at CM Eknath Shinde’s Varsha bungalow as well. The march was organised by Maratha Kranti Morcha Maharashtra.

What are the demands of Maratha Kranti Morcha?
The protestors have said that the Maratha Kranti Morcha is carrying out this movement for the demands that reservation should be made as a Maratha and more importantly, it should be upheld in law. The march started from Girgaon Chowpatty Shahid Tukaram Omble Memorial and went directly to Varsha Bungalow which is the official residence of the Chief Minister.
A few days ago, Manoj Jarange went on a hunger strike at Antarwali Sarati Jalna for the reservation of Maratha community. Jarange Patil went on a hunger strike demanding reservation for Marathas from Kunbi, among other demands. But now the Maratha Kranti Morcha has started a movement demanding reservation for the Marathas as Marathas.
