According to the latest reports, since the Maharashtra cabinet revoked all the curbs enforced for the control of COVID-19, the wearing of masks is now only an advisory.
Accounts are doing the rounds state public health minister Rajesh Tope remarked that the wearing of masks is now voluntary. He added that while they have relaxed the restrictions, they are requesting the public to use masks while they are in crowded or public areas.
Other than him, Awhad is also claimed to have said that wearing masks will not be mandatory but the cabinet has appealed to the citizens to wear them.
The said resolution on masks was reportedly passed in the state cabinet meeting on Thursday by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In addition to the recommendation of wearing masks, people have been asked to keep a safe distance, get vaccinated against COVID-19 to avert the danger of the pandemic.
The government then also released an order where it advised the utilization of face masks and asked all to maintain social distancing since it is the biggest protection against the virus.

Based on narratives, from Saturday, April 2 onwards wearing masks in public places will not be compulsory but voluntary. This move by the government will enable the citizens to return to life pre-COVID times. These developments come in the midst of falling coronavirus cases being reported in the state.
Apart from this announcement, Thackeray on behalf of the cabinet also wished the people of Maharashtra a Happy Gudi Padwa.
